Depending upon the flue gas fraction of CO2, the costs of CO2 liquefaction can be as low as $30/MT.
Thermal Power Plants decarbonize profitably
Liquid CO2 from flue gases inexpensively (illustratively at $35/MT for power @ $20/MWH).
Use LW’s long duration energy storage to operate plant at near 90% capacity factor
Cement & other process plant can profitably decarbonize.
Sell liquid CO2 in markets (Prices @ $60 – $120/MT).
Use LW as Green Power Plant or Green H2 / NH3 for energy.
CO 2 direct liquefaction -
Capture from flue gases
LW’s CO2 Direct Liquefaction (CDL) is a modular add-on.
Provides the low-cost, high-efficiency flue gas compression and energy recovery.
Hydrate Reactor (A) and Fractional Condenser (B) concentrate the CO2 content and deliver liquid CO2 at desired purity.
Power plants using energy at marginal costs further reduce the costs of CO2 liquefaction. In addition, they operate at a higher capacity factor to generate more power and store the excess energy (5), to deliver peak power & ancillary services for highly profitable new revenue streams.
